Media Release - Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources Deniliquin: 15 July 2005 IMPROVEMENT IN ALLOCATIONS FOR MURRUMBIDGEE WATER USERS Regional Director of the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources David Harriss today announced an increase in the general security allocation level for Murrumbidgee general security users to 12 percent for the full season with 9% being available by the end of February.
There is sufficient water available to meet 100% of entitlement for town water supply and domestic and stock licences, 95% of entitlement for other high security users and 100% of entitlement for supplementary licences during declared periods of supplementary water.
Assessment of available resources has been carried out for a range of climate conditions:
- There are 9 chances in 10 of allocations of 28% by the end of Oct, 37% by the end of Feb and 42% by the end of May. - There are 3 chances in 4 of allocations of 36% by the end of Oct, 47% by the end of Feb and 55% by the end of May. - There is 1 chance in 2 of allocations of 50% by the end of Oct, 71% by the end of Feb and 75% by the end of May.
