ADDITIONAL TIME TO COMMENT ON MENINDEE LAKES ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT

Regional Director of the Department of Infrastructure Planning and Natural Resources David Harriss today announced a 4 week extension of time for people to make a submission on the Menindee Lakes Environmental Impact Statement.

“With the project being of significant state-wide importance we have decided to extend the period of submission to ensure all interested parties have a chance to comment”

“With an the estimated cost of up to $33M, it will achieve a water savings of over 9000 megalitres but more importantly, will increase the security of water supply in western NSW and provide significant environmental benefits,.” Mr Harriss said

Written submissions must be received by 26th of August by the consultants, URS.

Copies of the EIS are available from the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resource’s Information Centre in Lee St, Sydney or from the Regional Offices at 32 Enterprise Way, Buronga.
