Media Release - Minister's Office Sydney: 22 February 2005 LOW DEPOSIT AND THOUSANDS IN BONUSES FOR LANDBUYERS IN SYDNEY'S WEST NSW Minister for Infrastructure, Planning & Natural Resources said today that families wanting to buy land at Garden Gates, Mt Annan, had just under a fortnight to take advantage of a low deposit offer which could see a block secured for just $5,000.
“Until 6 March, the NSW Government, through Landcom, is offering the special low deposit offer with a delayed settlement until 1 June this year.
“Up to $12,500 in bonuses are also available for those who choose to following design and landscaping guidelines.
“Not only will these incentives help families financially, but they will also encourage the development of a community which is more attractive, and more liveable,” said Mr Knowles.
“Sydney is growing by a thousand people a week the NSW Government has strong and detailed plans to accommodate the growth of our population. Landcom, which has delivered over 60,000 lots and homes in its 30 year history, plays an important part in those plans.
“Last year, Landcom released 2,237 dwelling ‘equivalents’ – including land, apartments, townhouses and house and land packages – for sale across Sydney and NSW.
“Garden Gates, at Mt Annan, is going to be a great community for families to settle. It is right next door to Australia’s largest Botanical Garden; the Mt Annan Marketplace and Campbelltown & Macarthur Square are close by; it’s close to schools, TAFE and the University of Western Sydney as well as public transport and a range of recreational and social facilities.
“Landcom frequently offers incentives which help families realise their dream of homeownership.
“For instance, Landcom has brought forward the sale of a number of new home sites at Melaleuca at Metford in the Hunter.
“Around a quarter of the lots already sold at Melaleuca are to first home buyers which is in no small part due to Landcom’s matching of the First Home Owner’s Grant.
“That totals $14,000 of relief for first home buyers. That can make all the difference when a family is just starting out.”
